My name is Janean Rawls. My first memories of dachshunds are from my childhood. The Dachshund breed was my Mother's choice of dogs and so growing up we always had a few little red smooth weenie dogs and my Mom raised a few litters of pups from them.
Later in my life I had my own Dachshunds. I raised a few dachshund litters awhile before I became a licensed breeder. I applied for and recieved my Illinois state license in 1996.
We are located in Southern Illinois in rural Wayne County. Our Dachshunds are raised on country air and sunshine and raised underfoot on our small farm.
We are state Inspected periodically throughout the year. We raise quality AKC registered Miniature Dachshunds and place them into happy homes.
We do NOT sell puppies to brokers or pet stores NO EXCEPTIONS! We also do not sale puppies to puppy mills or breeders with a large number of dogs. NO EXCEPTIONS!
We have been inspected by AKC a few times and we were found to be in excellent standing with them. We do participate in AKC's sire's DNA program and all litters are AKC registered.
We raise two coat types of the breed; smooth and long in a variety of colors and patterns.
Puppies are not bred for color alone, but are looked at as a whole and are first and formost bred for health and comformation as well as temperment.
Puppies leave our care at 8 weeks old or shortly after. We will not release a puppy to the new owners until we feel the puppy is fully ready to leave our care- NO EXCEPTIONS!
We want good homes for our puppies! Please do not get upset with us if we seem to be asking a lot of questions when you inquire about our puppies. A Dachshund can live well into their teen years and we want to be sure you're prepared for that commitment.
All Puppies will be up to date on their vaccinations and wormings when they leave our care.
We do provide a Written Health Guarantee and a Health Record on each puppy.
Puppies are handled and cared for on a daily basis and are used to being around adults, children and other pets. All puppies are healthy, playful, clean and well socialized upon leaving our care.
Shipping is available as long as the weather permits. We will NOT ship puppies in extreme temperatures- NO Exceptions! We charge a $100 flat fee which pays for the airport trip and the health shipping exam, health certificate and shipping crate (which is yours to keep). The price of the flight varies, but normally with the flight and the $100 fee your approximate total cost for shipping a puppy is $300. We ship our puppies from Lambert airport, St. Louis, MO.
.
Available puppies will always be listed on our PUPPIES page. All puppies are AKC registered. The prices quoted on each puppy is for a "pet" price only. Meaning your puppy will have an AKC puppy paper and the paper will be marked as "limited". A limited AKC paper means your puppy is an AKC registered and recognized dog but is not to be used for breeding nor would he be elgible for some of the AKC shows.
If you plan to breed or show your dog you will need to purchase a puppy with FULL AKC papers. This usually will cost extra with any breeder, as it does with us. That additional amount will depend on the individual puppy you inquire about. It will be up to my descretion whether I agree to sell a particular puppy with a Full AKC registration or not.
That being said.. Puppies sold on a "pet only" limited AKC will be sold on a spay/ neuter contract. Meaning you will be required to sign a legal binding contract stating that you will spay or neuter your puppy by 8 months of age. Once I have proof from your veterinarian that your puppy has been spayed/neutered, then you will recieve the puppy's "limited" AKC paper from me. All puppies sold as "pets" will be required to be spayed /nuetered... NO EXCEPTIONS!
We enjoy meeting the new families that give our puppies good homes. We want to make your puppy purchase and ownership a pleasant one. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have about your puppy before, during and after your puppy purchase. We want our puppies to be a blessing to your home!
Always know that if for some reason you are not able to keep your puppy, PLEASE contact us immediately. We will take puppy back and find a new home for him / her.
Dachshund puppies need lots of love and attention. It takes consisitant training and patience to potty train and raise a puppy. Owning a puppy is a never ending comittment. Please, before purchasing a puppy, be absolutely possitive you are able to give the time and care to the puppy that he/she needs to grow and develop into a well trained & loved house pet.
